For the love of

Alexander Henry for one. This is the bag my friend wanted for her mum. My lovely husband scoured Purl for this fabric after spying a fat quarter in a bowl. I think he loved it more than me. Then my friend said that her mum liked “all reds. And if you have anything with butterflies that would be brilliant.”

Bombs went off in my head.

But lookit. Sooo pretty. And she is such a good friend I could never have pretended I didn’t have anything remotely red with butterflies on it. Could I?

No.

Mind you, if her mum doesn’t like it I’ll set bombs off in her head, and see how she likes it.

(But all is not lost...)

I have mostly done cleaning today, with marigolds, and shuffling about the house feeling snotty and a bit sorry for myself. A friend phoned around teatime and pointed out that it was almost Christmas and that therefore I should be lying about consuming quantities of chocolate.

So I tried it, and to be honest, I just feel a little bit sick. Could it be that chocolate doesn’t sure everything?!

Jo, you have obviously entered the rhelms of Pink Lemonade Boutique with your ability to turn out beautiful bags so quickly. Mine take days and when I finish I feel like I have given birth (and have to eat the aforementioned huge quantities of chocolates, Christmas or not). The fabric is gorgeous – she will love it, though such a pity that you had to experience such head trauma in the making.

Anyway, I may disappear for Christmassy fun for a couple of days now, but just wanted to wish you a very, very happy Christmas and hope that you have managed to stock up on something more appetising than ham and Baileys now. Hope your snottiness departs in time for Christmas day. x

You’re obviously delirious with this cold and need to have a lie down immediately! Chocolate is the answer to everything!!

Your friend’s mum is one very lucky lady, she’s bound to love it …. that’s if she ever gets to see it …. if I was your friend I’d keep it for myself ….. (I’m just saying …)

I hope you feel better by Tuesday :)

ps. Does it feel funny/fabulous/strange to say “my lovely husband”?

What a lucky mum to receive your fabulous bag for Christmas. Do hope you have a wonderful Christmas, I find a glass of very cold bubbly helps melt away the stress at Christmas!
