Inspired by Monkee Maker I figured it was okay to share with you the scale of my task for tomorrow. Of course I’m not clearing up today – that would be far too energetic, and as you can see I have already made a roast chicken dinner, not to mention snacks of smoked salmon, croissants for breakfast and many many pots of tea for my lovely guests. Quite enough for one day.
We did have a good night out, finally seeing in the new year rather bizarrely next to HMS Belfast and a group of drunk Belgians. One of our better ones, and largely responsible for the huuuge amount of lying about we’ve all done today.
Speaking of which, I only have a few hours more to lie about before I become a completely different, more efficient and energetic person tomorrow (obviously) so I’ll get on with that now and I’ll see you in the morning for that fresh start…
Oh what a lovely sounding New Year’s Eve, but right now (as it’s still sleepy New Year’s Day) the person you are intending to become sounds a little too bouncy!
While I am normally insanely tidy, one glass of wine and I am happy to leave the kitchen looking far worse than that (I think the lack of height means that I am a gibberting wreck after a very small amount…but at least that leaves more for everyone else!), but luckily Ian has an absolute obsession (weirdly made worse by drink) that all dishes must be washed before bed…meaning that come the morning when I go downstairs it is almost as if little elves have been in during the night.
What lucky house guests you have had – croissants for breakfast is quite heavenly.
Anyway, Happy new year, Jo! Your new work desk set-up looks lovely by the way.

Oh, what a fabulous picture! (love your kitchen!) So glad I could inspire you like that :)
I didn’t actually …. ahem …. tidy up our kitchen, but I know a rather gorgeous man who did …. a top tip for you for tomorrow, I think!
(I was taking down the xmas tree though – while blog stalking … shhhh …. so that must count for something)
I’m glad you had a good – if bizarre night out – and Happy New Year!
:)
