So I’ve been tasked with revealing 8 things about myself by the lovely Lisa. I would begin with a photo but I’m not on the right computer at the moment so I’ll add one when I am.

1. I am very fond of metropolises/metropolii (how do you pluralise metropolis?), namely London, New York, Tokyo. They’re exciting, busy and crazy and you can do anything, be anything. They let you do that. I’m going to New York for the fifth time in December.

2. I hated my schooldays, even though I was fine academically. Torture, the lot of it. Best days of your life? Don’t make me laugh.

3. I make excellent cheese scones.

4. I worked in an office once, and it gave me panic attacks and made me cry. The bitching!

5. I’m nearly finished my masters degree in creative writing and I’m extremely excited about getting my life back, mostly so I can sew and maybe sell things I’ve made so I never have to work in an office again.

6. I have a stationary fetish: notebooks, envelopes, pens…

7. I only learned to drive a car two and a half years ago.

8. I can’t stand doing housework – it’s dull and you always have to do it again. My house is a tip, and it’s very dusty, because we only ever tidy up when people are coming round.
